House as it looks from the exterior 6/30/09
The professional taping and mudding crew finished their work and should have sanding even done before the long holiday weekend. Bill Dunphy positioned some fans in the house to help with the drying of the mud.
Update on future jobs: We will paint as scheduled on July 9 but rather than hanging doors and installing trim after that (like the old days), Dayo has chosen laminate flooring (beautiful warm plum color) so that has to go in before doors, casing & trim can go in. We will likely first lay the kitchen and bathroom tile then begin laminate vertically down the hall and go into the bedrooms and living room from there. Not exactly sure house leader Doug has done this in another house and will be leading with Andy and George July 10 & 11. Of course Andy will be back on Saturday.

Volunteers hanging drywall, thank you God!
These were amazing days with drywall continuing and actually being 100% completed. Thank you to volunteer Mark Frisinger for leading volunteers all 3 days and completing this enormous task on schedule and superior quality work. Siding on the back of the house was completed with a good start on both sides. The front will be done last. We expect mudding of the drywall to begin on Monday (by professionals) even before we leave for the long holiday weekend. Every day so far we have had excellent numbers of volunteers with Lutherans and Thrivent members always needed in order to satisfy the requirements of our agreement with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Friday was the lightest volunteer day so far with 8 people on site.
I am concerned about the 10th of July right now. We have a lot of flooring to install and only 5 people signed up. This is a day where could easily put 15-18 people to work throughout the home. We will lay laminate flooring throughout this entire home except the bathrooms and kitchen which will have tile.
Help recruiting for Friday the 10th is greatly appreciated. People can call me, e-mail me or sign-in on-ling at h4h.volunteerhub.com
Thanks!
