Good morning Andy (great early morning picture, eh?) Thanks for coming by the site this 7:30am Tuesday morning to meet with us before heading to Marshall, Michigan for the week with family. We will see you Saturday!

In the meantime, Andy met with Doug Towner and Bill Dunphy to discuss this upcoming weekend’s work and the tools and materials needed to accomplish everything. Painting is still a go for Thursday but we learned that the bedroom and bathroom door openings were made 2″ too small and the drywall is in, mudded and will be sanded today. So some volunteers are going to have to do their best to not destroy the drywall yet remove 2×4’s and increase the size of the door openings as best they can. Still, 99% of the house can be painted. This will also require a few switch boxes be moved from their existing position over a few inches to the new stud location. I had mentioned in previous correspondence that flooring would be going in this weekend. NOT. Bill says laminate will not go in this weekend, too much else to do first. The kitchen and bath could go if in the tile comes in but this would be the only flooring to go in and even then the luan will have to go down first for that. The siding is not done and the shed is not even started so there is lots of work for all who turn out.

Priority for this weekend is also the digging out of the egress window hole so the window well can be put in place. This is necessary in order to proceed with the gas line hookup, which may take anywhere from 1-5 weeks once requested so this job must get done this weekend.

Yesterday (Mon., July 6) the driveway was cut in and crushed stone was laid in anticipation of the driveway being formed and filled with concrete (not this week.) Attached are a few pictures to show that progress.

Lunch Thursday will be from Divine Shepherd in Ann Arbor, Friday lunch will be compliments of Bella Italia Pizza in Ann Arbor and  Saturday King of Kings is not only providing most of the workers, but is also providing lunch.
